This visually stunning, bilingual book is an eclectic collection of recipes from across the globe. Louis is Emma’s 8 year old son, and he is a gastronome and he is always hungry! Emma has created a wide variety of recipes adapted to a busy life. She emphasises using local and seasonal produce and encourages the reader to adapt to their own local produce. All of the recipes are tried and tested, and are easy to recreate at home.
You don’t need to be a parent to buy this book as the recipes are suitable for all ages. However, if you are, Emma offers fun tips for introducing a wide range of tastes and flavours to the young palate. Written with humour, each recipe has a story. Creatively designed and beautifully photographed this is a visual feast for both the eyes and the stomach.
Although less about wine and more about food than her previous book Emma does offer the occasional wine pairings and musings. Emma worked with new designer Sofia Luce Gallo for the creative design and, as with A Taste of le Sud, artist Garth Bowden for the photography.

Heralding from a background of keen gastronomes, Emma’s first taste of wine was at the tender age of three (mixed with water of course!) Emma entered the world of wine and food as a young girl in Paris working at the famous Willi’s Wine Bar, where she was taught by some of the finest noses in Paris to taste and pair wines with dishes.
After spells in Dubai, Canada and the States, Emma returned to her native UK and began teaching the Wine and Spirit Education Trust courses to both amateurs and professionals. She is one of the few people in the world to teach both wines and spirits to WSET Diploma level. In 2004 Emma joined Vintellect, a company specialising in training where she worked with companies such as PizzaExpress, Fuller’s, Young’s Brewery and Loco. In September 2008 Emma returned to France, with husband Chris, on a permanent basis in the Languedoc-Roussillon where she teaches a diverse mix of wine and wine and food related courses and qualifications.

Years of searching for the right property finally brought a dilapidated, old winemakers house in the heart of the Corbières Vertes to Emma and Chris' eye. A house that needed a lot of attention, love and care to bring back to its former glory. However on the 23rd of December 2010 they signed the final papers and La Maison du Rire was created.
Wine and food are natural partners, and after years of teaching Emma has found that the most enjoyable way to teach, and learn, is with a glass in one hand and a plate of food in the other! Life is too short to drink bad wine, and to not be laughing!
