My mother said

Is it easy to put up the roof insulation? To which I replied, dunno not done it yet, I’ll let you know when I have. No mother it bloody isn’t easy, is the answer!! I have just spent the last 3 days doing 3 rooms with 3 different helpers!

Day 1, the smallest bedroom with Chris. Relatively easy and quick, once we had come up with the idea of cutting the panels with a bread knife instead of the Stanley.

Day 2, the largest bedroom with an awkward beam with Youri. 2 hours to do 90% of the room and 4hrs to do the bit around the beam! Luckily Youri is skinny and flexible!! He is only 21 so he’ll get over the trauma of being shoved up against a wall and a beam with no room to move whilst trying to squeeze wood fibre panels into place!!!

Day 3, the bathroom with Paul. The most entertaining but a lot of fannying around!

The panels are easy enough when you can just slide them in but when you gave to fit them around awkward spaces it’s a nightmare. The man in the ad is smiling and slipping them into place easily, humph he isn’t doing our roof! Oh well 3 rooms done and only another 150 m2 to go!

I love the interchangeability of tools: Bread knife for DIY – Stanley knife for scoring pork!
