Enfin, we have knocked out the last bricked up window. It is the one above the front door and being street side we were waiting until Chris had made the frame and window so that we could knock it out and pop the new one in. Which is what is happening right now as I write!
I am delighted as it has made so much difference to the light in the hallway and we can see the big Acacia tree blowing in the breeze. Lovely.
The other windows are waiting downstairs, the glass comes on Thursday so hopefully Chris will be able to get them in by this weekend. Then that leaves us one window in the shower room to replace and 4 windows to refurbish in the house. Then at some point we need to put windows in the workshop so that Chris is no longer in a rabbit warren!
We are also working on the stone wall around our garden terrace. Well when I say we it is actually Fred, who works for Chris, we found out that he is an expert in building dry stone walls and trained in it when he was younger! So happy coincidence, he is now working on that for us which means not only will the wall look good but the garden will be clear, all ready for the gardeners (Steve? Mum?) to come back and spruce up!!!
