Insulation baby

we have two weeks left before Rory leaves us to go running with the bulls in Pamplona. So we are trying to crack on with the insulation and plaster boarding the ceilings as much as we can. This is what he does back home in NZ, admittedly not in 200 year old houses as I don’t think that is possible in such a young country!

Yesterday the boys did the scary part which involved bouncing around on scaffolding planks above the double height ceiling area. I felt quite nauseous just looking at them!!! At least that part is done. Chris reckons that he would have been hard pressed to get anyone else up there to help. Not hope in hell that I was going up there!!

So we shall crack on and try and get the rest of the hallway done, then what will be our bedroom and lastly the living room. There seems to be such a lot of insulation left over but I guess it will be all used up quick enough, just hard to imagine when you look at the pile!

Last Sunday Rory and I went to a local fare in Lezignan. There was food and wine tastings, music, arts and crafts. It was fun to get out and see and taste the weird and the wonderful. This weekend there are lots of festivals as it is La Fête de la Musique here in France where every village, town and city plays live music and dances he weekend away. Not sure where will head but there is a concert here in Coustouge tonight.

Bon courage! We had a fantastic holiday near Lézignan, I remember some beautiful old belle époque buidlings…I hope they’re still there!
