Age is of no consequence!

At La Maison du Rire we are not prejudiced against old or young people, we get everyone to join in and work. And being half blind and deaf is no excuse to shirk your duties either!!! So that said Mum and Dad have been working hard all week! My mother has transformed the garden, now that Steve and Liza did the hard work of landscaping, she has planted and pruned and it looks very pretty. My Dad has been Chris’ apprentice and helped build the French doors for our kitchen. I think it has been a novelty for him to actually work with soooo many tools! We have painted windows and frames. They have even done wonders with cleaning up the old earthenware tiles which have been soaking in the brook for the last 3 months!

Meanwhile we are very excited to get the Porte Fenêtres in place. Not only do they look fab, they bring lots of light into the house and tie the house together as now we have a way of getting inside from the garden.

So there are still some ‘finitions’ to do. Painting, filling in around the sides and putting the glass in but the major work is done. So now we will continue with the 6 windows that need to be in before the weather turns.
